As the Webmaster of John's website (and a FHSU graduate), I try not to make very many comments about the material that I post to the Internet, but my Tiger Cap is off to the J&C Fencing crew!! They were hammered by blasts of Artic Weather that postponed this project several times. When I spoke to John, he said that they were trying to get most of the fabrication done in their shop (East of Hays) during the cold spells. With a scheduled Lark's home game on the calendar, their deadline was approaching fast and I think that John may have been getting a little nervous about it (please don't tell John that I just said that :).

John, TJ and Tyson covered the heavy building and friends & family helped them out with some of the completion process. Within two weeks they had the metal structures at the park erected! Wow!! The final bulk painting was covered by the FHSU Baseball Team. John said that it was an awesome site to see 40 athletes show up with 40 paint rollers! He mentioned that they "took care of business" within lightning speeds.

To put the scope of this project into perspective, the back fence is 600 ft. in length (that is about the length of 14 average homes), 8 ft. of new iron posts are above ground, 3 ft. is below ground and all of the posts are buried on 6 ft. centers. The practice/warm-up areas and other interior field fencing stretches nearly the depth of the field (300+ ft. on each side). Using laser leveling technology, John said that the 600 ft. of outfield fence is within 1/16" of being exactly level across the entire span. Amazing.

What an AWESOME project for the J&C Fencing crew, the FHSU Athletic Department and everyone else that participated in this!

Tiger Team: If you see any rear-ends of the J&C Fencing crew still rounding Third Base during season games, please try to just jump over them!
